Pure Momentum was founded in 2013 by JonPaul “JP” Reed. JonPaul has been an athlete all his life and truly understands the benefits of participating in sports. The leadership skills that he learned as a top level High School Quarterback, and the persistence he gained growing up playing basketball and becoming a renowned basketball star, has made him an ideal role model. JP found his love for baseball early-on and went on to become a professional baseball player playing in the American Association and the Pecos League.

Pure Momentum is an organization that specializes in the development and exposure for student athletes, along with equipping our young men and women with the social skills needed to be leaders and well-rounded productive members of society. We accomplish this goal through a combination of intense specialized training sessions, experienced and passionate staff who understand that positive reinforcement is the key to motivating young people to succeed, and events that are aimed at getting our athletes exposure and allowing them to compete against the best competition possible. Our program is centered around consistency and devotion to getting better each day. Pure Momentum offers training in a variety of sports for all ages and genders.

  • Semi Private

Workouts consist of a combination of skill based drills, and advanced mechanics. Mixed with challenging conditioning sessions design to test the athletes awareness and baseball IQ (60 min)

  • Group

Designed for a competitive feeling atmosphere. Giving the serious athlete the push they need to take the game to the next level (90 min)

  • Packages

Workouts are tailored to fit each athletes skill level. Flexible scheduling available! Workouts will include sport specific training, skill based drills and advanced mechanics in athletes chosen sport. Also speed, agility, strength and conditioning workouts with special infancies placed on stretching and nutrition. The combination of field/court work mixed with challenging rigorous indoor workouts are guaranteed to get fast results. Sessions will include athletes from all sports (baseball ,football, basketball) aiding the athletes in becoming well rounded individuals and supremely confident athletes ready for all challenges. 8 sessions per month (120mins)

Football Training

Pure Momentum offers training for Football players also. Our football workouts are tailored to each individual and designed to work on the skills necessary to be both an overall football player and also meet the specific position needs of each player. Our workouts are designed for not only strength and endurance for linemen but also speed and agility for defensive backs and wide receivers. Drills performed help increase arm strength and accuracy for Quarterbacks. Our workouts are a mix of fundamental drills and skill specific mechanics designed to get each player ready for their up coming season at their perspective position.

Basketball workouts are aimed at increasing endurance and stamina along with isolating each specific skill set and giving each player a clear and concise understanding of the mechanics and techniques needed to perform at the highest level possible. We evaluate and asses the players current skills, then develop and work out plans for each individual player that is designed to increase the players performance in each area of his or her game. From shooting and dribbling to defense, and even making sure the athlete has a well rounded knowledge of the game. We believe that a well trained athlete is able to coach and correct their own mistakes.

JonPaul Reed

Professionla baseball player

A former professional baseball player. Coach JP Reed teaches the basics of managing an outfield including footwork, fielding, and strategy for keeping those base runners on their heels. Coach JP teaches how to toss an un-hittable pitch and goes through the fundamentals of pitching. Coach JP was selected as Top Senior during his High School Career. Went on to play Independent pro-ball in the American Association and the Pecos League

Timothy Dixon

Sports training professional

I am a sports training professional, born in Winter Park, Florida, who played right field and graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. My focus is on player development, helping individuals mentally and physically get better every day.

Alvin Franklin

Associate Athletic Director for Development and Team Lead

A Jackson, Mississippi native. Currently a Graduate Assistant in Athletic Development within the Bulldog Club at Mississippi State University. Alvin played his high school career at Murrah High School in Jackson, MS. Alvin was a Dandy Dozen in 2011, an All-Metro selection in 2010 and 2011, an All-State selection in 2010 and 2011, and a MS All-Star selection in 2011. Alvin went on to play his collegiate career at Meridian CC and Jackson State University.

Quincy Walker

Coach

Quincy played his high school career at Forest Hill High in Jackson, MS where he was MS All-Star Selection in 2002. In 2007 Quincy finished in the Top Five in Batting Average in the NAIA while playing at Tougaloo College.
